Michael Merchant is the BIG Foot Hunter

Post  CMcMillan on Fri Aug 24, 2012 7:25 pm

The more I watch Michael Merchant's video's the more I really believe he is the MAN with Team Tazer that will be finding Bigfoot.
Michael just goes about this more logical.

Good Work Tazer and Michael

I think Michael does a great job at this. He has a good background with the outdoors and he's a biologist. I saw the look on Michael's face when Bill Brock showed him the trackway. I could see it right there in the video. The look of how-can-I-explain-this, the perplexed look.
I wish him all the best and I'm sure he'll be his own worst critic.

I really liked him about a month ago. But his smart ass way of portraying stuff got on my nerves. Sometimes he over acts his sarcasm and its annoying.

When he did his ketchum stick structure was over the top. I thought it was childish, then his imitation of Impossible Visits request for a FLIR
was really childish That really turned me off to him. I thought it was hurtful to a scientist who has little resources and needed to use an small business
tool to raise funds (Kick starter). There was no reason for that. Maybe as a biologist he has all the resources he needs but Chris Noel did not.
Completely childish.

The more cameras that are on the ground, the better the chances are for success.

I really like Michael's determination to have his research be transparent. No secret locations and we see what he sees ~ even if that is nothing but a goofy bird dancing across the road. My only gripe is that I think his videos are too lengthy. His 20 min NYC trip vid was about 50% whining about Delta Airlines. Yes, airlines lie. Big deal. Get over it. I kept listening in case he had something important to say about TTBF, but bet I yelled SHUT UP! a good 20 times Laughing

At least he doesnt immediately jump to the conclusion the prints he found were bigfoot. Is this why you dont like him?

How much thought do you put into things before you type? Just curious.

Is Mike Merchant AKA Snow Walker Prime? I like that guy. He gives no quarter and doesn't blindly buy into things. Plus he's asked the hard questions of the Ketchum Group.

He does his best to start with the null hypothesis and work his way out of it. (the proper method) If you have data, step one is to try and eliminate suspects. Only after eliminating as many suspects as possible can you focus on any one thing as the source.

Michael is probably the person with the best scientific method I seen in the BF field and credibility to match. It is great watching an actual biologist work the scene of an investigation. I hate to admit it but B.O.P. was right when he said bigfooting needs more guys like S.W.P. Nuanced professionalism is a breath of fresh air for BFing (take a hint fat guy in Florida who's name I refuse to mention). As for the west coast TTB's, are they in North Cali? I've been working the Mt. Hood National Forest (Oregon) and SW Washington for a while now and haven't heard of any TTB around here.
