Technology and Bigfoot Evidence

Post  chiefmark on Sun Sep 02, 2012 6:19 am

In the last few decades we've seen vast improvements in technology. If the current rate continues, I can't imagine what will be available to buy in just 10-20 years. What new inventions or improvements on current technology do you think could aid in obtaining evidence of Bigfoot? I personally like the idea of drones - not the noisy, fast, high flying surveillance types, but more of a silent airship cruising just above tree level. These are only as good as the camera's onboard however. Any other suggestions?

I like the idea of small airships for large open areas or areas that are less forested. I say this because unless the operator is well trained, the chances of losing the airship in trees will be a problem.
It would be nice to have something that is quiet, small and has the ability to hover. A device like that might be able to navigate in lightly forested spots if the body was durable against bumps and scrapes.
Any technology needs a power source, and current power sources are inadequate for longer observations. I think technology in this area needs improvement. I dislike giving my money to the battery companies as it is.
I use my camcorder a lot but I can only record about 113 minutes on HD, yet I COULD record 565 minutes on the camera if I had an efficient power source. I can't afford four or five spare batteries and I also prefer to travel light.

Good point in the power limitation. I guess improvements in this sector will open the doors to numerous technologies. Some kind of airship with a good lightweight battery, some small solar panels for top ups and maybe a little wind generator also. Every little helps so long as the weight isn't a negative.

Any other ideas? Some kind of scent detector maybe, assuming you can get a scent to pick up on, but it might be stealthier than a pack of bloodhounds.

Improvements in camera phone lens qualities are a plus. They don't show much sign of slowing down in their enhancements.

Maybe vibration sensors in the ground that trigger a camera rather than the current motion detectors, certainly if it seems that BF are able to detect the current emmitted lights etc.

Tethered balloon with wide angle thermal pointing down. Have some glow sticks attached to trigger their curiosity.

Certainly worth a go. The power sustainability could be an issue again but if it's tethered, and the balloon is big enough, I wonder if power could be delivered via the tether somehow? Thermal technology will improve quite quickly I think, driving down prices and making it more available to the general public. Cameras based around water sources, near to game trails might be a good location. We might not know much about their hunting and eating habits, but everything has to drink.
