Bigfoot in New England... Empty Bigfoot in New England...

I digging through some old reports and stuff.
I think this is the earliest report for Connecticut of a wild man/Bigfoot/Hairy-man
The tale supposedly starts in August 1895, when the Winsted Herald reported “a large man, stark naked, and covered with hair all over his body, ran out of a clump of bushes.”

It was witnessed by town selectman Riley Smith, who was out in the woods with his bulldog, merrily picking berries and minding his own business when the creature came along, causing Riley to be “badly scared and his dog was fairly paralyzed with fear.” He described it as “a wild, hairy man of the woods, six feet in height,” and adding that “the man’s hair was black and hung down long on his shoulders, and that his body was thickly covered with black hair. The man was remarkably agile, and to all appearance was a muscular, brawny man, a man against whom any ordinary man would stand little chance.”

Naugatuck, New Haven County, Connecticut - Wednesday June 19, 1898

Four Danbury men discovered a gigantic wild man last week in Cotton Hollow, a section of country between High Rock Grove and Naugatuck. They were Jerry Wilson, Howard Bradley, James Durbin and George Howes and were working in that vicinity. On the night of their discovery, they had been spending the evening with friends near High Rock Grove and were returning to their stopping place through the woods, between 11 and 12 o'clock at night.

When i was young this was the same year I saw the creature and I lived on the border of Trumbull CT
I didn't report it was interesting to see that someone else saw something around the same time I did,

Fairfield County, CT
Near Trumbull

Male witness reported seeing a white sasquatch running approximately 35 mph near the town of Trumbull, Connecticutt in 1978, tracks were seen. The report was published by Marion T, Place in her book "Bigfoot All Over the Country.

Fairfield County, Connecticut
Danbury April 1978

A Florida publication called the "Yeti Newsletter" (not sure who published that newsletter) carried a story in September, 1978, about a boy on an isolated farm near Danbury seeing an 8-foot, hair-covered creature the previous April.

Deputies were phoned and dispatched to the site. The officer reported finding 22-inch tracks; he made casts that were sent by state police to be studied by an anthropologist at Yale. Later deputies were supposed to have seen it and shot at it. Danbury PD should have this record on file.
