Letters from the Big Man, - Discussion
I received and watched this film a couple of weeks ago and would like to recommend it to anyone that has an interest in Bigfoot. It was well done and has great consideration for the entire subject of Bigfoot. So don’t expect your typical monster movie.
In the movie they broach the subject of natural and supernatural powers. The one I find most interesting and plausible is the use of infra sound, as this is a known capability in some animals. It was very well adapted to Bigfoot and played well into the actual real world encounters described by some, (feelings of dread / panic/ nausea). The telepathy / mind control along with the dimensional travel was a bit much for me, but I know some of you have discussed this as possibility in the past. Overall a good movie that brings a lot of consistence real world reported behavior to light.
I like the overall spiritual tone of the movie.

They did the Bigfoot pretty good.
If you didn't know this was a test scene from the movie, you would be arguing about it now if its real or not.

A beautiful film
I was fortunate to see this film in a theater with Christopher Munch present. The photography alone made me want to go into the Klamath wilderness. And I think Munch took care to present all of the characters, including Bigfoot, as well as he could. There are a number of interests in the movie -- loggers, the forest service, environmentalists, native people, and a shadowy government agency. And where does Bigfoot fit, both within this and apart from it all?
I got the DVD as soon as I could and it was beautiful to watch again. And I also got a book that was somewhat featured in the film, The Klamath Knot, which has some nice passages about Bigfoot and is a wonderfully written exploration of wilderness, evolution, and myth.
