Squatchin in Louisiana Empty Squatchin in Louisiana

Post  josephthebruce Wed Mar 06, 2013 11:52 am

A few months ago in December my brother texted me that he was watching a Bigfoot in the state of Louisiana. You can read his story here. http://bigfootevidence.blogspot.com/2013/01/rob-gaudet-to-investigate-louisiana.html

Well I finally made it to Louisiana (from Chicago) to do my own investigation. I was in for a terrifying experience. I would like to know if anyone else had experience some of the things I did? Also I went unprepared and I have no audio recordings but I am open to suggestions for equipment as well. On with my experience.

On March 5th,2013 my brother Josh and I made our way to the Wild Life Management Area (WMA) around 7 pm to see if I can illicit a response of some sort. We traveled about 3 miles into the WMA before reaching the spot where Josh had his encounter at a fallen tree. We arrived and around 15 mins later I did my first call. I got an immediate woop response to the NW about 500 yrds away. Then I made another long woop and got two more responses to the NE of us around the same 500 yrds as well. In my excitement I did a tree knock and got a 3 knock response twice.

We waited about 20 more minutes and all of a sudden we had a stick thrown at us. Followed by low guttural chattering coming from both sides of the road.(Which in the swampy land of Louisiana in the dark is pretty scary.) I told Josh lets ease back to the 4-wheeler and as we started back the woods on both sides of us came alive with movement as we were paced on the left and right of us as we moved.

We climbed through the fallen tree and stopped. The movement on both sides of us stopped with us. I did another tree knock and about 100 yrd away I get a response back. A good "Knock" back. The hair on my neck stood up. I decided to do my Bigfoot Scream and I let out four loud screams and immediately to the right there came a low growl that I have never heard before in my life. Then a large body moving through the palmettas and water heading our way. This thoroughly scared the hell out of us and we hopped on the 4wheeler and sped off.

Now a couple of things.
1. I never heard chattering while squatchin. Has anyone else? If so what did it sound like?

2. This is really weird. As they came closer both of our lights became dimmer. Coincidence probably but it was creepy. Has anyone else experience this phenomenon?

3. Im an experience outdoorsman but as green when it comes to squatchin. Do you guys have recommendations on equipement. (I had none while out there.)

Shocked Skeery!

Some people have reported "French-sounding" vocalizations in that area, which could make sense in Louisiana?

Huh, really? I'd associate that almost with the old loup-garou folk tales (werewolves, more or less) than bigfoot.

I really enjoyed this post. Something about BF instead of bigfoot researchers.
Thank you!

Joseph listen to the "Sierra Sounds" audio and see if those come close to what you
heard. There are snippets of all over the place if you cant find the whole original recording.
They sell a CD of the whole thing if you want.

I just listen to the Sierra Sounds. They had a lower register to the chattering. Not as high pitched.

Can anyone offer advice about equipment?

Zoom H4n. Perfect for all kinds of recording. Outdoor and indoor. Excellent quality sound. Records on to SD/SDHC cards up to 32G for hours of recording. Battery lasts up to 10 hours. Goes for around $200.00.

Geez, I'm starting to sound like an ad.
