Hello, Newbie with a thought/comment
HI, I just joined today, searching for a forum that hopefully proves to be different than the one I was on several years ago.
I've been watching Sasquatch/Bigfoot researchers on Youtube for awhile now and certain of their ways mystify me.
I'm noticing that most try to create "gifting" areas...what I'm not understanding is the choice of gifts
I see everything from cheap dollar store toys and glow sticks to a vast assortment of junk food and candy.
I get they are trying to create trust and believe food to be a universal sign of friendship, but why all the junk?
All the sugar and preservatives aren't good for us either, right?

Welcome
You are so right Chel: Some people just don't get it. My personal opinion on this is the more natural food gifts the better. My understanding is they like root foods such as garlic , parsnip, probably nuts, seeds and fruit foods also. I could be part wrong on this. I don't think I mentioned this regarding my experiance before having seen that grand being of the forest. When we use to pass that invisible line on the short cut trail we would take 5 days a week, fear that something was watching us was what made us run. I noticed over the many times we used this trail that in this questionable area was small bites of food rappings. These tiny wrapping pieces were everywhere in this one large area of the woods. Could of got some DNA off of some of the pieces; eventhough, don't think they were collecting any of that in 76/77. So though I think you are right, going back and finding something missing, one will get a idea what works unless some other forest creature is becoming a sugar junky. Thanks for your intelligent input.

Thank You, Sasdave...
For your input. I often think it would be very hard to determine what is actually taking the gifts and almost impossible to prove most of the time.
I would also like to say, I have a great deal of respect for all the researchers out there doing the leg work, day after day, week after week.
My entire perspective of the woods shifted and I no longer have any desire to even go strolling into the woods.

Thought and comment
Hi again Chel; Regarding your desire to not even stroll in the woods anymore; sounds familiar to me anyway. I think you should try to break that fear and do it just not alone. Personally, I know if I am in the forest and one is near I will feel its energy. That is why I believe it would be a good idea to leave a piece of good food(not candy) in the same area and use your mind and say I give this piece of food in thanks of free passage. I would think if you do it on a regular basis you will end up know who or what is taking it. Putting up cameras I don't think will help the discovery. It maybe a good idea to place it in a higher up area. Many years ago I had this idea to take a harmonica and play it not super loud, then leave it in a certain spot. Telling them verbally and mentally it is a gift for them while waving it in the air and placing it on a high stump. Then come back regularly to see if it is still there. Okay, ya I do sound crazy it was just a thought; but, if the food doesn't work a shiny noise stick might just do the trick. You have a great day and if you can try not to fear the forest and the trees.
