Hello people of the sasquatch search party. Being of one of the little pink monkey clan (humans) I have had the unforgettable experiance of feeling and then seeing this grand creature some call the bigfoot. My experiance of this grand being happened in the around 1977/78. As much as I wanted to be silent regarding this subject I found it impossible as; since; then I have met many who have witnessed the same. Sure many sitings can be questionable by those that haven't had a experiance of this type. I could say I feel happy for yas as it does change your inner being. The change in you comes more when you try to communicate your experiance. I won't at this time give all the info of my experiance and the nicknames, etc I have been branded with. I just want to ask how tall is a creature that can take 3 steps to cross a 32' roadway?

More information is needed. How fast was the creature moving is a key one.

But let's say it was walking...average 6' tall man at a normal stride takes approximately a 36" (3') step. (This can vary widely depending on the walking surface, type of footwear, leg length, etc)

So 6' tall = 3', that is 10 steps. Solving backwards...30' in 3 steps = 10' per step times 2 = 20' tall?

Running is different...average sprinter travels 8 feet per stride running or 1.4 times his height. Working that backwards, it would take the sprinter 4 strides to cross the road. To do it in 3 we are looking at 7.6 feet tall.

Could a human sprinter do it...i suspect it is possible.

DPinkerton thanks for your reply. Sorry forgot to say it was walking. It was about a half a short block away when it crossed our path. So it wasn't a human dressed up from the info you have given. Not sure how tall it was it was just huge. Never did think it was human. We were in a new subdivision, new roads no houses yet. Years later went back to measure width of the road to which was 32' with curbs. Funny thing is it must of been watching us for sometime as we were having a great time coasting down the 3 hills, where there was no traffic. It was nearing dark when my bro asked if I wanted to do the hills again before it gets dark. I said sure then we both turned to look up the hill only to see this dark creature take 3 steps to cross the roadway. Yes, I know it would have been perfect conditions to go back and check for foot prints. Fear is a funny thing it sometimes overides thought; especially, when your legs go into the run mode. I don't remember that gocart going so fast even after putting a engine on it, and I didn't know my bro could run so fast. The feeling I experianced was a feelig of terror just like we would have when we took a short cut to school every week day. Most of our younger life we grew up in the mid-upper treed are of canada and I never experiance this type of fear or terror. When going to school we would get to this one area like a invisible line and as soon as you crossed it terror ingulfed you. So what do you do run; eventhough, we could not see anything to be scared of. Sure this maybe old history for many; yet, over the years I have met a few that had experiances in that same area, no visual sittings though. Moving from the Campbell River area now to the Nanaimo area this subject is still a touchy subject for many that have had experiances in this area too. All I can say now regarding these grand creatures are they are not evil in my eyes. Personally there is no need to give the exact location as they are all over this island. Believe it or not.

NobleSavage, Thanks for your reply. Yes it was pretty terrifying; but, as we know life goes on even if there are some like me who are forced to believe. Yes, I realize evidence is the key to proof. Sorry I have none, I realize now there were probably prints left as it was in a area where they were putting a new subdivision the ground would of been perfect. Fear is a state that prevents some from thinking straight. I think I would act differant next time??? I sure don't venture in the woods as much as I used to. There are areas on this island I get the same hair raising freak out feeling I did years ago. The last sighting I have come across was in Duncan B.C. When a girl was out camping with friends and on her way back to camp from going to relieve herself she stepped on what appeared to be a log. It wasn't a log it was a sasquatch, it scared her so bad and I guess she was pretty frantic and I guess no one believed her and I guess the nonbelievers thought it was better to put her in the hospital. I wouldn't expect her to talk about it now. My heart and respect goes out to her and all those that are forced in one way or another to keep the truth silenced. In one way or another I also wish these Grandcreatures peace and hope the truth can set them free and a dead on will not be needed for evidence of proof.

What a wonderful place you live in. I used to vacation with my uncle in campbell river. I/m sure it's changed alot. this was back in the late 60's. There was an RV park at the drift wood inn. probably before your time. Great fishing and good times.

Oldtimer; Yes you are right it was and is a wonderful place. Many of changes in the slottering of trees, etc. The area you mentioned is not too far from where my sitting happened maybe about 3- 5 miles in and up the treeline from the driftwood. The funny thing is you never expect to have this type of experiance on a island at least that is what I believed. What I have come to believe is bigfoot/sasquatch is real; but, it is small potatoes compared to what is really happening beneath those magestic dirty feet. May they be respected as one may respect a halfbrother or friend.
