Ketchum's time to shine came and went a long time ago in my personal opinion. There is only a certain amount of time a person can go around with a hook in their mouth.
I understand DNA testing takes time but this is ridiculous. Look at the Sykes timeline, it's all there for every person to see.

Re: Robert Lindsey UPDATES
She has made far too many statements that don't jive with what I know about the paper publishing methodolgy. If he would just have been up front from the start and said "look, we want to capitalize on this so there will be no information released until the publication date is known"(which is released and not covered by the media blackout) then she would have been fine. But the way this was handled (and her lack of knowledge, bad comments about paper publishing, her crummy business history, her getting Texas A&M sued for bad practices, AND the suspicious NDA's, which aren't used by scientists writing papers too often, not in the biology field anyway) have made this look like a cash grab. Especially if the "paper" ends up getting published in a fringe journal "like say the Journal for Scientific Exploration". It will have no legitimacy.
Stick with Sykes, he has the credentials and the reputation to get this done. Also, if you have noticed, his study has a timeline released and no NDA's, no publicists making goofy posts on FB. (not to mention, when his paper is pubished, it will probably make sense)

Yeppers, Stank. The only things I would add to that list of issues are the strange Facebook posts about witnessing the 'playful family', braided horse tails, and posting that blurry 'stick structure'.
It seemed to me she was laying the groundwork for a Protection Society (it has/had its own FB page), which could evolve into a sweet little gig for her as Director... IF the species is proven to the public's satisfaction.
As for Lindsay's on-going announcements... Twice I've seen a blog comment from a person that in the course of discussing something else said, "Her paper will publish this Fall, with the Sykes report to follow shortly after." If true, it sounds as if this has all been well-orchestrated to best monetize the results for the inside parties.
I hope it was worthwhile for them if we learn Shawn and Ro were sucked into a plan to legitimize/humanize Justin Smega ~ and soften the blow for a public that's bound to be outraged by news of the Sierra Kills. Already they're trying to replace "Kills" with some less harsh term. Hmmmmm.........

Re: Robert Lindsey UPDATES
I don't think that Robert purposely reports misleading or incorrect articles because his stories are only as good as his sources. Personally I do like his writing style and he goes in to quite a bit of detail.
I suppose it's kind of hard to corroborate information if sources are limited, especially in the Bigfoot arena.
The mainstream media get stories wrong often, so how is online news any different? I have also noticed that Robert admits when is he is wrong.
I'm going to stick with my gut feeling on the studies. I think Sykes will publish first, followed by Ketchum. Arguments can be made for both outcomes as to who benefits from releasing their findings first.
If Sykes publishes first, then Ketchum's findings (if any) have more traction. I can't imagine a world renowned geneticist following a vet.
Maybe I'm not looking at the vice versa scenario closely enough.

I'm gonna stick with my gut feeling. Ketchums paper will come out and I hope all the people that have invested 100's of thousands get to see a return on their investment. This group got the ball rolling and I hope they get their reward.

Re: Robert Lindsey UPDATES
Ketchum's results will be inclonclusive enough for believers to whip out their crayons and zagnut bars in support.
In the end I gurantee veteranarian Ketchum has no definitive bigfoot DNA, or physical specimen, nothing of value.

I hope you're right, Beer-Man. I don't begrudge these guys making a buck to recoup their costs, at the very least. I'm just hoping they don't sensationalize or contrive evidence. All will be revealed very SOON, and that's true! )))))

Re: Robert Lindsey UPDATES
I hate to stir up the pot but I have seen other evidence about a Dogman like Bigfoot. In fact several people who I think are real experts
have said their could be more than TWENTY different species of Bigfoot. The other thing I have read is that Bigfoot may be the more gentle
of the varied species and that species that have got the tag Dogman are more aggressive and are to be feared. Or at least regarded as more dangerous.
There appears to be alot we dont know.

Re: Robert Lindsey UPDATES
20? that seems a bit much eh? For there to be 20 actual different unknown species, they would each need their own specific bloodline that traces back a looong time, separate dna, and 20 different populations significant enough so they can reproduce without inbreeding..... all without being discovered.
You have to admit that seems unlikely. One species spread over a large are with a low human density level like the PNW and Canada I can buy into the plausibility of. But 20 species all over the USA just doesn't seem to be possible at all.

I don't think you're stirring up the pot. Consider the source: Lindsay LOL!!
Anyway, I've been pondering different species since SnowWalker interviewed what appeared to me a very credible couple in Maine. They described two animals crossing the road in front of them, and our own Guided by Pandas did a beautiful rendering of what they saw ~ tall, but scrawny ape-like creatures with long red hair/fur, running on their front knuckles. Nothing resembling Patty or any other account I'd read to that point. After the interview, others mentioned knuckle-running as well, but still with a more traditional idea of what a BF might resemble. I agree there could be different species, and with that, there could be greatly different degrees of intelligence among them.
BTW, the knuckle running makes sense to me. They can move at great speed, but still stay low behind trees and brush. Ever since that interview I watch a lower point of interest in posted videos.

Re: Robert Lindsey UPDATES
You know what Stank, before I got into this I didnt even think there was one. Now I dont know what is real or not. I was just posting this point
to contrast the thought could there be another bigfoot species that is "dogman" or not. Some of these other researchers are the ones who see 4,5, or
more standing in a video where I see none. They had brought up others like a Ratman, a Catman like creature etc. One video one researcher showed
me one drooling where I saw nothing. Then after some tips and study sure enough I could see the saliva drip out of the creatures mouth. Spooky.
But yes I have no problem following your train of thought either.
I went hiking last week (as far as my surgically repaired back would let me) in the eastern Sierras and its just VAST, so looking from it in that prospective
it seems possible. But when you look at a western hemisphere map, you can see the limitations of than many unknown species.
I think alot is possible, but what you are saying makes all kinds of sense too.

Re: Robert Lindsey UPDATES
i could understand a geographical variation (or say a subspecies, like how the eastern kingsnake is Lampropeltis getula with a chain pattern on it's scales, yet as you go further south the chain pattern tends to become more and more a species of spots until you end up with the speckled kingsnake,Lampropeltis getula holbrooki,as you go west they change again from the heavy black background with white/yellow speckling, into almost a yellow background with black speckles and black back saddles, they can(and do) interbreed, but aside from color pattern, are pretty much identical snakes.)
BTW Paul, how are you posting on the site? it leaves your posts kinda weirdly written (one long line of text followed by a short two or three word and so on) it makes it kinda hard to read as the spaces act like commas or periods...

I can See the different varations of some kinda of creature.
If we assume that Bigfoot, Dogmen and what ever are all some form of early Hominid perhapse they are several forms of the evolution of the Hominid that have survived.

or we can assume none of them exist, and are just myths, legends, camp fires stories etc
Burden,
Why are you even in these forums. We are trying to have a discussion on the belief of bigfoot.
We get you don't believe so why not give your BS a rest.
If you want to have a discussion then have one. But if all you want to do is JUst throw out "Its not real" blah blah then go someplace else
It gets boring hearing the same old crap from you.

BurdenOfProof wrote:hows that any difference to you posting that they are real?
It is different because of the target audience of the forum. This is (unless I am mistaken) a PRO Bigfoot forum. The majority of the membership is most likely on the believer / it's possible side. While skeptism is needed, true non-believers continual statements of Bigfoot non-existance does not provide any benefit to the forum or its members.

Re: Robert Lindsey UPDATES
Stank I post on a MaC Pro double qaud. It does put space where I dont want them or separates lines where I didnt intend. but I dont see it until AFTER I hit the send.
WHat I write in form looks NOTHING like how the editor posts it after I hit the send. I started editing the paragraphs after they were sent but it got to be such a problem
I gave up. Its more a mac vs PC forum database problem I have had before on another forum. I just trust the readers are intelligent enough to comprehend what I typed

Example
I took my kids to the swimming pool at the local YMCA this summer. Everyone in the pool was enjoying themselves, and the mood was light, and joyous. Parents chatting, kids playing, and swimming, an overall wonderful summertime atmosphere.
Thirty minutes into our swim, a 10 year old boy jumped in the pool and began swimming around to all the toddlers, and babies(many under the age of 2), and began splashing them all in the face, and spitting water out of his mouth into their eyes and nose.
The life guards did nothing, which only encouraged this behavior to continue, and the parents of the 10 year old miscreant were completely oblivious, in their own little world reading books, or feigning ignorance. He continued round and round for 20 mins, until all the babies and toddlers were crying, and most parents and kids were exiting the pool to avoid him.
Now, let me ask you each this question. Is this sort of behavior something we should all tolerate, and overlook, out of fear of offending the sensibilities of those who force their will/desires on others?
After the third or fourth round of watching this brat circle the pool and continue this behavior unchecked, and several warnings from parents, and a few less stern warnings from YMCA pool staff, this future 'B.O.P.'/Stank approached me holding my 1 year old in my arms, and spit a big mouthful of water into my child's mouth, causing him to choke for a moment.
My reaction was perhaps a little frightening for some but applauded from others, as I began to engulf this brat in tidal waves of chlorinated water for about 30 seconds. As he pulled away shocked, and tried to swim out of range, I followed, and continued my own brand of tolerance. At the moment, I seriously considered holding him under water for a while to get his attention, but thought better of it, as I would be perceived as unstable to some degree. LOL.
I then allowed him some distance to catch a breath of air, without water in it, and he managed to make it over to the oblivious ones who called themselves his parents.
It's not like I got applause from all present, but the behavior stopped for the rest of the swim, and everyone's enjoyment of the summer time atmosphere returned to it's original, blissful state.
Please help me to understand how I was misguided and wrong if that's your opinion?
The point is, there are malcontents, and antagonists that's sole reason for occupying space is to pester, disrupt, distract, and generally just piss off the group. For whatever reason--- reduced mental capacity, social dysfunction, or poor parenting/modeling behaviors, they find pleasure and enjoyment in these antagonistic behaviors. It's why B.O. and Stankass are members of this forum. After all, who posts more than 250 times on a forum about a creature that is mythical according to them? Who's posts, except for the token few to provide cover, invariably challenge, critique, distract, or derail the enjoyment and interaction 99% of us commit to in civility, and social normalcy.
Just look at it logically, in whatever capacity you review this behavior, it's not normal. That doesn't make me intolerant, or less accepting of alternate opinion, it's a fact that cannot be ignored. Call them trolls, miscreants, Stankasses, or B.O.'s . As far as I'm concerned, the group discussion should NOT suffer perpetually at the whim and will, of self centered, boundary crossing pestilence when all it would take is banning them from this board.
At some point, board administrators either step in or descend down the path of other boards that are currently failing, because uninhibited tolerance ruled the day!

Burden I am guessing that admin deletes your posts because either they have absolutely NO value, or as is your
style you post something like " why talk about it when they dont exist?" and I am being nice because you usually include
an insult. So until you either start ADDING something to the conversation, stop insulting people or make some
contribution of intellectual value, it will continue. Just my guess.
Notice Stank has dropped the insults and is using data, contributive comments or actually giving something to the thread.
90% of your posts add NOTHING to the conversation and usually carry an insult. You have admitted not being from America
so that even drops MORE of your intellectual value. You seem to have no idea what its like in the Pacific Northwest from California
to the great Yukon areas of upper Western Canada. Until you stop posting:
"It doesnt exist"
"Your an idiot for believing in a 10 foot hairy monster"
You are an idiot for believing in God"
"PGF was a hoax no doubt about it"
"PGF is laughably horrible"
"PGF is the worst hoax ever"
"PGF is a bad suit"
"Patterson was a drunk"
"Bob wore the suit"
"Why do you all believe in a Hoax film"
"PGF is the worst piece of BF evidence EVER"
I think your posts will remain in danger. But thats just me guessing
