Sasquatch Alert posted in local campgrounds in Eastern Sierras.
US Forest Service Bulletin #7-12 Sasquatch Bulletin Posted in forest campgrounds up
around my area in the Big Pine Campground areas and Big Pine Creek campgrounds.
This is 100 miles north of me.
SASQUATCH ALERT!!!!
The US Forest Service warns visitors that recent Sasquatch sightings have occurred in both
the lower and upper Big Pine Creek areas. Campers are advised to keep a close lookout and
report unusual sightings to either campground hosts or Rangers or the District manager.
IF confronted by a SASQUATCH DO NOT RUN stay calm. If possible take a picture and note
the area where sighted. Most sightings occur at night. THerefore activities outside
the perimeter of your campground are HIGHLY discouraged.
Kind of delivers a fat lip to skeptics. I am thinking of going up there on Labor day.

Delivers a fat lip to skeptics? Why? Anyway, get on up there and get us some evidence!

I was going to post that but I didnt realize we had pic posting powers until I looked up on the line for commands above the post.
Kel if the Forrest Dept is posting Sasquath warnings is kind of like a government endorsement of Big Foot. At least in Inyo county.

That is some really interesting stuff Paul. Has anyone vetted this posting with the forestry service? I will add that even if it is vetted by the N.F.S., they most likely will say something along the lines of 'we are relaying information and cannot confirm or deny the reports.' I want to make a big poster of that though. Pretty awesome.

I found one of those too
Hey guys, im the new guy. Ive been coming to bigfoot evidence for a couple of months now and really enjoy the sight. Im mostly just a causul observer but tonights post made me sign up and start talking on the forum. Side note, GT and SN, love the posts that you guys make. Anyways, the reason im on here is because on sunday August 27th, my brother, his girlfriend and I went on a drive to Walput Lake, about twenty miles outside of Packwood, WA in the Gifford Pinchot NF, and as we were up there walking around enjoying the day, I found a "beware of bigfoot"(lack of a better term)sign hanging in the middle of a bulletin board. Dont know what to make of it. Has NFS and DFW logos on it but the last sentence kinda throws me off, almost like they made a joke about it. I grabbed it and can post what is on the flier(Possibly download, Im not to good w/comp) and see what you guys think. Idk, maybe nothing but thought it was kinda ironic that I found one there the same day this story posted. Anyways, thank you guys for the info and im glad to be here. Hope I can add something good to the discussion!!

Re: Sasquatch Alert posted in local campgrounds in Eastern Sierras.
I’d bet the flyer is a fake. There is no way a government agency is going to post a Sasquatch warning for a creature the government refuses to ‘publicly’ admit exists. The flyer's capital letters- don’t run and take a photograph, to me are an indication of it’s true orgin. I think it’s a great idea, by a amateur squatcher to get sighting information. Most rangers are willing, to some extent to discuss the topic.

I was looking for the Number on the flyer and it doesn't match with the national forest service numbers.
So i would guess its fake as well.
But yea I do think its funny.
Don't run!!! Take good clear pictures!!

If you have the flyer please post it. There is a link on the home page for instructions on posting. I feel like I've seen this before, but I'm not sure. I'm going to check with my brother because I think we have seen a sign similar to this in Washington state.

Thanks to a member we got ahold of the Forrest service up there and they dont know anything about them, so there you go. EIther they are faked OR a real campers have had sightings
and wanted to warn others in a semi official way. Either way they dont belong to the Inyo County forest service folks

"WE" called the Forest Service? Next time, may I respectfully suggest WE actually make that call ourselves before posting possible hoaxes and alarming people, let alone being a tad too gleeful in advance of any skeptic getting that "fat lip" you mentioned.

Hey I got it from a reliable source. I should have vetted it a bit better, but knowing the people up there it was posted by locals. Still a possibility its a real warning

Like I said, I'm fairly certain I have seen these before. Either way this region is known for BF sightings and I thought the poster was pretty awesome.

Re: Sasquatch Alert posted in local campgrounds in Eastern Sierras.
This is what I think happened, and I know these people. There is a whole community from Ridgecrest to Lee Vining along hwy 395 and the Eastern Sierras.
There is in order going from south to North
Ridgecrest +45 miles =
Olancha +15 miles=
Lone Pine +13 miles =
Independence +26 miles =
Big Pine + 12 miles =
Bishop + 40 miles =
Mammoth + 19 miles+
June Lake + 8 miles +
Lee Vining and Mono lake home of the famous Mono Lake Footage from the late 90's that spawned an episode of Monster Quest.
Any one of these tiny towns population 4,000 or less Except Ridgecrest (30,000) has a road(s) that go straight up to the Sierras and many campsites.
All these people are VERY outdoorsy, Like to hike, Mt. Whitney is near Lone Pine. Hunters Fisherman and mountain bikers, some Olympic athletes live in the
area to train.
I think there has been a rash of sightings around Big Pine up in the Onion Valley.
I think one or several local hikers decided to post those and get the Rangers to do something.
There is a rumour that in the late 70's a Bigfoot went through a campsite in Bishop and killed 4 campers.
That would keep people on edge even 30 years later.
Just my thoughts being a "local"

Re: Sasquatch Alert posted in local campgrounds in Eastern Sierras.
I have a home in Independence, CA. My husband and I hike up in the Onion Valley area and we know all of the locals who always know when and if anything interesting is going on in the area. There is a Forest Service worker who lives across the street. When we go up this weekend I will talk to him, but I'm pretty sure it's a hoax. The wording is a bit ridiculous..."try to get a picture?" I don't think so.

hey GT...
I was reading the comments on this page on Bigfoot Evidence a minute ago, and quite a few people where claiming that you had made this up and forged this document. Now, unless i missed something, Im kinda confused as to why they would say this. Any idea??

Re: Sasquatch Alert posted in local campgrounds in Eastern Sierras.
letfindem,
I didnt make it up, infact I didnt even have the picture of the posting, Sqautch Nation from Canada got it. I recieved the note from Freeman Young of Treepeekers.com
a guy I help technically with electronic support. If thats what they want to think let them. I am guessing someone from this forum posted that on the comments.
The Comments on the posts on BigFoot evidence have gotten out of hand, thats why this board exists.
I have no reason to hoax anything. I am too busy to come here much less hoax that. Go to Treepeekers.com and see if its still there.
Besides, my other home is in Mammoth Lakes, IF I took a pic of something like that it would be from Mono County not Inyo county.
I am 53 years old, I dont have time for that and am not that immature.

Re: Sasquatch Alert posted in local campgrounds in Eastern Sierras.
Letsfindem, no problem. Its just wierd, I am a 53 yo owner of my own UAV company. I have payroll to meet, contracts to fill, meetings to attend
Flighttests to do, The LAST thing I would EVER do is hoax a flyer. I just dont have the free time to do silly stuff like that.
As far as the comments over there its getting out of hand. Why would people blame anyone unless you have evidence. The only thing I did
was get the info off my friends Facebook post. Freeman Young.
