State Parks and Sightings

Am I the only one who sees a correlation with sightings and state parks?

Not sure I saw a direct correlation but are you assuming its due to limits on hunting, logging etc?

Looking at the BFRO Maps and State Parks I see the correlation that most sightings are in or around state parks. Im not saying because of limit of activity of humans. Well maybe I am. I just find it interesting. Especially if one is looking to maybe going out to look for sign or something.

It makes sense. BF hang out in remote areas, and some of those are reserved in state parks.
The state parks usually allow for people to camp in developed camp grounds and its alot easier then
camping on BLM land, so it stands to reason it will have more encounters.

Now what are State and National parks what do they do?
The preserve the Natural surroundings. Most Parks will not let you hunt on them so prefect places for animals to live with no danger from being hunted.
And People come along and leave food! Easy picking.

My father seen a male down in Louisiana in a state park. My great grandmother who was part of the Choctaw Nation claimed to have seen a family group that came out at dusk on the reservation down in Louisiana. The whole tribe was respectful that night was "their" time.

Now I personally haven't seen anything. However I went to my local state park and squatched a few times with outstanding results. Whoops and tree knocks.

My wife is the one that pointed out the correlation between sightings and state parks. She came up with a similar theory about government protection.

I encourage you to look at your state parks on the BFRO Maps and see if there are signs in your local area.

Reading Missing 411 is a must. It not only talks about state parks but national forests. I have always been on guard whenever in the woods etc. But after reading this book, I would not let a loved one out of my reach while visiting a national park or forest.

No need for me to look this up lol.. My nearest State Park IS a Sasquatch reserve lol. Actually the whole County that the majority of the park is in, is a Sasquatch reserve.

A local man here claims that a small family group lives in my local state park or at least passes through during the summer.
