I think when you actually look at the US alone at the amount of forest in the Nation it is easier to see how a creature like bigfoot can easily hide.

To add a little perspective...

Oregon has 28.8 million acres of forested land.
That is 45,000 square miles.
Or a square 212 miles by 212 miles.
It would take a car 3.5 hours to drive across at 60 mph.
It would take a person 14 days to walk from one side to the other.

...and that person walking would have only seen 0.05% of the forest in those two weeks.

Oh absolutely. Combine that with something intelligent that doesn't want to be seen and it's a needle in a haystack. You could probably be mere yards away from one and not know it in my opinion. They're big, yes, but so are it's surroundings. Some of the brush I've seen on investigation videos is so dense, you'd lose sight of a hi-vis jacket in no time, not to mention a dark coloured squatch that's either moving quickly away or keeping very, very still. And people wonder why we don't see more of them.

Isn't there an surpridingly low figure of Bear sightings in the wilds of America? I've definitely read outdoorsmen say that they've encountered only a handful over bears in their lifetime in forests, and even less cougars. A lot of people based here in the UK assume that you put one step in the woods and you're pulling out the pepper spray.

I agree with you. I don't think too many people realize the vast areas that are still out there on this continent. Also it seems to me that from the reports they are so stealth they can be right under one's nose and that person not realize it.

Agreed. Most of the land east of the mississippi is designated ''fly-over'' country as far as Bigfoot goes, sad to say. Despite the multitude of reports and research expeditions pointing to the contrary.

6.5 million acres "forever wild" NYS's Adirondacks!

We are going squatching in mid November...Lake George (eastern shore) region...south of Whitehall in the Sleeping Beauty region. Any one ever hear anything up there? I've read all of the Whitehall sightings and feel they mis the fact that just south is a huge preserve with lots of game and fresh water and for 7 months largely desolate.

Post here or reply privately if you can help!
