SKINNED SASQUATCH ???
1st post here, for me.
Tim from LI/NY.
47, DoD Contractor, Heavy Fabrication.
Hello.
I searched the blog & forum, no hits came back on this.
If it's been hashed over before, my apologies, in advance.
I can't find date or location for the alleged event, and the wondered, if anyone with insight could add to the back story, for me.
Was it hoaxed, 3 guys dead, should have made some mainstream news?
Maybe just a Road-Side Oddity Shack, with 2-headed snakes in a jar.
Any way, Thank You, in advance, Tim.
Skinned Sasquatch spells destruction
That led me to the site listed in the story., I cropped a bunch of text out of it.

Skinned Sasquatch spells destruction .. Excerpt from story found on NewsBlab.com
A hunting party had camped not far from the river. They rode their horses as far as they could for that day, not seeing any game made them mad, and tired from their fruitless adventure.
They dragged the furred creature into camp, and gazed at it for a long while. None of the hunters knew exactly what they had shot... but they knew what they must next do. Skinning knifes went to work...
Exactly what happened the following day is somewhat unclear, but the end result was very known; three lay dead, and one was found near death.

Re: SKINNED SASQUATCH ???
I think it's a hoax guys... What did it in for me was the "Pictures from the camp." that shown the squeaky-clean and well bleached skeleton of a horse with the saddle still attached lol.
And the poster is right. If men died, this would have been all over the news.
It might be a set-up for a "Found-Footage" movie though.

Hello Myles!
Thank you for the welcome.
Since your from LI, I have to ask, are you aware that that we had a reported Big Foot sighting in 1931, Nassau County, Mineola?

The Ape of Albertson:
In June 1931, Nassau County police officers armed with shotguns combed the woods of Albertson, searching for what newspapers called an ape-like animal that was frightening residents. The animal was described as four-feet tall with a chest covered in brown hair. After three sightings were reported to authorities over a ten-day period, police took action after the animal startled and terrorized a group of boys playing baseball, with numerous witnesses. The animal climbed over an improvised backstop where the boys were playing on I.U. Willets Road, just on the east side of Willis Avenue. The boys’ screaming got the attention of a passing motorist who stopped and chased the animal away by hurling bricks. The animal never harmed anyone, but no explanation is known.
Thanks to Chuck Flood for sharing this flashback.
The 1931 Nassau County and Wading River reports were widely known, having been published in the New York Times in 1931 and carried in The Books of Charles Fort, which were originally published in the 1930s. I revisited them in a broader context in Fortean Times‘ articles in the 1970s, and then in the 1983 first and later editions of Mysterious America.
Interestingly enough, it is reported that Nassau County police disproved a report of a escaped chimpanzee from a circus in Farmingdale, demonstrating a rare example of even the officials turning down the "escaped zoo/circus animal" theory that is so routinely troted out in cases of out of place animal reports. There was speculation as to the exact identity of the creature, with guesses ranging from "a gorilla, chimpanzee, orang-outang, or just a man that walks like an ape".

Re: SKINNED SASQUATCH ???
Well, they had a sighting in Staten Island back in 1974 by a woman and by 2 kids-different incidents. The terrain was good back then-all marsh and undeveloped land, just like a lot of areas now that have sightings in areas where it is developing.
